What does a Roundtable Facilitator do?
Roundtable Facilitators play an integral role in National 4-H Conference. Each facilitator leads small group of youth in round table sessions to help delegates learn youth advocacy and action. Facilitators guide discussion and the creation of a briefing
presentation to a federal partner and decision maker.
Who is eligible to apply in 2014?
Any young adult who has been involved in 4-H, has maintained a relationship with 4-H through Collegiate 4-H or other means, and meets the following requirements is eligible to apply:
- New facilitators must be 19-25 years of age;
- Undergraduate*;
- Recent college graduate, received a bachelor's degree within the last 12 months*;
- Currently a graduate student or have recently received a master's degree within the last 12 months*.
*Eligible enrollment in any public or private college/university
(does not have to be a land-grant institution).

Q: Are Roundtable Facilitators paid for their service to the conference?
A: The opportunity to serve as a Roundtable Facilitator is a volunteer position. However, it represents a chance for professional networking and skill development in a supportive, educational atmosphere. Travel, lodging, and food will be provided.
Q: Do I have to be a member of Collegiate 4-H?
A: Continued involvement with a 4-H program is essential to the role of a Roundtable Facilitator, but specific involvement in a Collegiate 4-H club is not required.
Q: How do I arrange an absence from school to serve as a Roundtable Facilitator?
A: Facilitators are advised to speak with professors ahead of time to arrange for an excused absence from class. A letter can be provided upon request for distribution to professors regarding the position and conference expectations. In the past, facilitators have had minimal difficulties making these arrangements.
Q: Is serving as a Roundtable Facilitator a good opportunity for me?
