Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in the ongoing growth and development of those in the 4-H Youth Development program. The following resources are designed to help make your job as a 4-H volunteer easier and provide the fundamental skills any good mentor needs.

What's New

Using Inquiry-Based Learning to Support 4-H Science-Online Course with Toolkit!

We invite you, your colleagues, and volunteers to take this structured learning online course with 3-20 minute modules designed to provide the basic concepts of inquiry-based learning. These lessons do not model inquiry learning; rather provide a structured course covering the basics of inquiry-based learning. Then, you can also use the resources, including a fully scripted toolkit, to train other 4-H faculty, staff, and volunteers to use inquiry-based learning in their work with young people.

4-H Robotics Year-Round Training Modules

Robotics Video ContestThe 4-H Robotics Year-Round Training Guide modules will assist you in providing training for 4-H educators, volunteers and teen leaders who are interested in your 4-H Robotics Program. Each module includes two to three hours of hands-on, interactive training activities, handouts, PowerPoint slides and tips for facilitators.

Entomology: Teaming with Insects

/uploadedImages/Resource_Library/Curriculum/Entomology/entomology-level-1.pngEntomology: Teaming with Insects curriculum was developed by Purdue University.   Studying nature inspires creativity by demanding that youth see what is around them and requires them to use all of their senses.  Because science is interconnected, many of the activities show interrelationships among insects, plants, and the environment.  The curriculum, Teaming with Insects, increases youth science literacy using insects and their relatives.
