National 4-H Council manages national 4-H social media pages for 4-H members, alums, volunteers, parents, and supporters of 4-H.
In 4‑H, we believe in the power of young people. 4-H programs promote active engagement where youth have a voice and create spaces of belonging—where kids feel welcome and physically and emotionally safe. A welcoming and safe environment extends to our digital properties.
Engagement on our pages should reinforce our positive long-term outcomes like high personal standards, connection with others, vocational and academic success, and—most importantly—a sense of happiness and well-being. 4-H's social media pages must remain a space for positive youth development. Activity(s) counter this will be subject to removal. We reserve the right to reject or remove comments not in keeping with our policy and block or ban users/followers who violate our policy.

For over 100 years, 4‑H has welcomed young people of all beliefs and backgrounds, giving youth a voice to express who they are and how they improve their lives and communities. Our pages nurture positive, supportive, and empowering conversations between 4-H members, their peers, and adults. We welcome interaction, discussion, commentary, questions, and criticism. Still, we ask that you keep your comments and posts relevant and respectful. False or misleading statements, abuse, or explicit communications directed toward the organization, its leadership, staff, volunteers, or the community will not be tolerated.
Safe, Diverse, and Inclusive Environments
We ask that everyone, first and foremost, be kind and respectful to other members of our social media communities. Please keep all posts, comments, conversations, and statements welcoming and appropriate for our youth members. Bullying, hate speech, harassment, or threats are not allowed, and degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated.
Anyone who violates these guidelines may have posts or comments removed. Personal attacks, inappropriate language, spamming, and excessive posting will not be tolerated. Posts advertising commercial products and those that violate a social media platform's terms of service or are inaccurate or otherwise objectionable will be removed.
The purpose of this page aims to connect the strong 4-H community and engage in positive and productive conversation. As a youth organization, we have fans and followers of all ages. Youth are our priority, and we will remove content or block users if posts or comments are deemed inappropriate due to any of the following:
- Contain language, images, or video that is determined to be profane, obscene, vulgar, or lewd;
- Use language perceived as derogatory or discriminatory (including comments about sex, age, race, sexual orientation, and political or religious affiliation);
- Express views or opinions that may be harmful to youth. 4-H is a youth organization and has fans and followers of all ages. As such, we will use our judgment to remove comments or block users from posting potentially hurtful messages.
- Spamming comments posted regarding the same content matter, links, video, or any other media;
- Use of specific names of individuals, clubs, or identifiable names with language that defames, abuses, or threatens;
- Promotion of any advertisement for products or services, causes, or solicitation of funds, exceeding more than one post per week.
